When Your Own Strength Starts to Lead the Way

Throughout a large part of your life, the world around you shaped your moves. You saw others moving with confidence which seemed to be effortless for them, and that was not the case for you, so you tried to learn from them, imitate their assurance, and tried to blend into a rhythm that never matched your own. It required more energy than you were aware of, energy that was used to smooth your rough sides so that nothing seemed out of place and to hold yourself together in a way that didn’t draw attention.

After that, a change occurred within you. It made it clear to you that most of your power was conditioned on being nice and small. The old noise was fading. The voices that were telling you how you should move lost their authority. You became aware of your own way coming from inside you, firm and clear.

The current shift inside you is grounded. It is reflected in the manner you use your time, in the moment when you decide on something that agrees with your principles rather than what creates harmony in your surroundings. Bit by bit, that prerogative gets stronger the more you follow it. Before you realize it, the world’s tempo is no longer the yardstick that you use to measure yourself. One’s own tempo is enough.

It is a brave act to go your own way, which is different from the ways you grew up admiring or fearing. You have been spending years learning how others make decisions, how they determine success, and how they behave. It seemed to be safer to stay behind their silhouette; however, safety is known for pushing too hard on a growing soul.

Now‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ part of you is aware that your way has its own significance. It doesn't have to look like anyone else's to be of importance. Your way is molded by your values, by what gives you inner strength, by the life that you are gradually figuring out to live without making ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌excuses.

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ path going forward may not look familiar to you, but this unfamiliarity is what actually indicates a new type of freedom - a life that is not shaped by others, but by yourself. It is your voice, your timing, and your instincts that fill the space now. It is in that space that your power is collecting itself.

Keep that realization close to you. Let it calm your actions. Let it remind you of the profundity you possess, the sharpness you have gotten through years of skillfully dealing with life when no one really saw your effort. You are entitled to lead your life in a way that reflects your truth, and every step you take forward makes you more powerful in the ways that used to be beyond your ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌reach.
